YORK,SC–Shortening the wait time for forensics investigations in York County, South Carolina.
The sheriff’s office will begin case work at it’s new DNA lab next month.
The lab’s construction is being paid for entirely by drug recovery money.
Authorities say it will save valuable time and allow them to test more samples.
Officials say the new lab will be able to process most forensics within 90 days, the old process of sending it to the state would take up to nine months.
