The United States Geological Survey reports a magnitude 3.3 earthquake occurred in Elgin, South Carolina just outside of Columbia at 2:18 PM Monday afternoon.
This earthquake was shallow, therefore, a lot of people felt it across the Piedmont and Midlands.
