CHARLOTTE, NC — A special honor for Samaritan’s Purse doctor Kent Brantly.  The Ebola survivor is one of five Ebola fighters who will share the honor of being Time magazine’s Person of the Year.  The issue has five covers.  Each person worked on the ground in West Africa where the virus has killed more than 6,300 people.

Brantly says that while Ebola is no longer making headlines in the United States, it’s still a major problem.  “I feel like the best role I can play in fighting Ebola is to stand here and be a voice for the people of West Africa who have no voice,” he said.

Dr. Brantly and Charlotte missionary Nancy Writebol survived Ebola after receiving experimental treatment in Atlanta.  Brantly has donated his blood to help several other Americans battle and survive Ebola.
