CHARLOTTE,NC–Craft beer fans can now take their beers to go.
A new North Carolina ABC rule took effect at midnight Thursday.
The new rule allows small jugs called growlers to be filled with craft beers.
The state ABC board says the growlers must be clean and clearly label the beer’s alcohol content.
Sankey’s in Matthews is celebrated the new law by opening it’s doors for growler sales at 12:01am.
The rules also allow beer vendors in the stands at sporting events like Bobcats and Checkers games.
