No Injuries In Gastonia House Fire

GASTONIA, N.C. — A smoke detector helped two residents get out of their home after it caught fire Thursday morning in Gastonia. Β 

Investigators say the fire happened early Thursday morning on West Airline Avenue. Β Officials reported heavy smoke and fire coming from the home when they arrived on the scene.

The fire was under control in 30 minutes. Β Both residents escaped without injuries. Β There is no word on what caused the fire at this time.

The American Red Cross is assisting the family.
