CHARLOTTE, NC — A police officer grabbed by people inside a car and dragged along a Charlotte roadway. Β The officer is recovering from a leg injury, and Β five people inside that car have been arrested.
It happened Tuesday afternoon on West Sugar Creek road in northwest Charlotte. Β Officer Bradley Starnes managed to break free. Β A short time later, police made a felony traffic stop and detained the five people who were inside the car. Β
They were taken to police headquarters for questioning. Β Officer Starnes was helping another officer who had been flagged down by a woman who said the people inside the car had assaulted her.
