CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police charged two men with attempted murder after they allegedly dragged a CMPD officer from their car Tuesday in northwest Charlotte. Β
Chad and Maurice Clay are both facing attempted murder charges. Β
Investigators say the suspects were stopped in reference to an assault call and during the stop they grabbed the officer and drove off. Β The officer managed to free himself and the suspects were arrested a short time later.
The officer was released from a local hospital with a leg injury. Β The incident happened Tuesday afternoon on West Sugar Creek Road. Β
One other person inside the vehicle, Antoine Johnson, was arrested for an unrelated assault warrant. Β
