CMC Emergency Team Heading to Nepal to Help Earthquake Victims

Β CHARLOTTE, NC — New pictures show more of the destruction from Saturday’s earthquake in Nepal. Β Hundreds of homes around Kathmandu have been reduced to rubble. Β Thousands are injured and being treated in the streets. Β
A team of doctors from CMC’s Department of Emergency Medicine are on their way to help.
“I expected to see that there’s a considerable need,” said DEM Vice Chair Dr. Lee Garvey. Β “Then we just hope that we’ll be able to provide some assist with that, in filling some of the needs.”
The Greater Charlotte Nepalese Association is hosting a candlelight vigil to remember the earthquake victims. Β The vigil will be held Wednesday night at 6:30 at the International House on Central Avenue in Plaza Midwood.
