CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) β David Ragan will move to Michael Waltrip Racing next week and finish the season as the replacement driver for Brian Vickers. Ragan has been filling in at Joe Gibbs Racing for Kyle Busch since the second week of the season.
ATLANTA (AP) β Dan Uggla drove in five runs, three on a homer in the ninth inning, to help the Washington Nationals rally from the franchise’s biggest deficit to beat the Atlanta Braves 13-12 last night and snap a six-game losing streak. It marked the first time the Nationals have won a game in which they allowed 11 runs.
GREENSBORO, Ga. (AP) β Georgia Tech football coach Paul Johnson and former Yellow Jackets basketball star Jon Barry won a four-way playoff to become repeat winners in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl Challenge golf tournament. Johnson and Barry finished 9 under in the annual tournament yesterday at the Reynolds Plantation resort.
