TALLADEGA, Ala. (AP) β Roush Fenway Racing teammates Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and Greg Biffle led the way in yesterday’s two practice sessions at Talladega Superspeedway. Stenhouse turned in the fastest lap at 200.780 mph in the first session Friday. Biffle went 197.859 to pace the second session.
TALLADEGA, Ala. (AP) β If Kevin Harvick ran NASCAR, he has decided ideas on how to move the sport forward. The reigning Sprint Cup champion would shake up the current 38-race schedule. Harvick said yesterday the current schedule is “stagnant” and fans want more short tracks and road courses in the mix.
ALLEN PARK, Mich. (AP) β The Detroit Lions have drafted guard Laken Tomlinson of Duke in the first round Thursday night after trading down from the No. 23 pick to No. 28 in a deal with Denver. Tomlinson is the first player out of Duke to go in the first round since Cleveland took linebacker Mike Junkin with the fifth overall pick in 1987.
TALLADEGA, Ala. (AP) β Danica Patrick is hoping to remain with Stewart-Haas Racing, but also knows she has to keep her options open. Patrick is seeking a new primary sponsor after GoDaddy said Wednesday it is leaving NASCAR at the end of the season.
