Β CORNELIUS, N.C.– A Police Officer with the Cornelius Police Department was shot in the stomach on Saturday.
Police say that the officer was a shift commander and was responding to a domestic call at Coachmans Trace drive around noon when he was shot.
Officials say that the officer was transported to Carolinas Medical center for treatment.Β
Police say that they have a suspect in custody and the suspect is being held at the Cornelius Police Department.Β
