Β NEWTON, NC — A Newton man who’s accused of trying to lure an 11-year-old girl into his car with a Blow Pop will face a judge Friday. Β Malcolm Bodie is charged with attempted second-degree kidnapping. Β The girl says Bodie approached her along South College Avenue. Β She ran into a nearby business for help.
As the call was being dispatched, an investigator leaving the nearby Newton Police Department spotted the suspect’s car driving by. Β Officers arrested Bodie soon after.
