GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) β Kennedy Meeks scored 18 points to help North Carolina beat UNC Greensboro 79-56 last night. The Tar Heels regrouped from a weekend loss at top-ranked Kentucky with an easy win against an instate opponent. They shot 49 percent and had a 20-point lead midway through the first half.
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (AP) β Ruth Hamblin had 17 points and 10 rebounds to help Oregon State beat North Carolina 70-55 last night. Jamie Weisner added 14 points for the Beavers, who improved to 8-0 for the first time in program history. Sydney Wiese had 13 points as the Beavers recorded their first victory over a top-10 opponent since 1995.
RADFORD, Va. (AP) β Javonte Green had 15 points to lead five players in double figures as Radford dominated Johnson & Wales (N.C.) 92-54 last night. Green, who was 6 of 6 from the floor, pulled down four rebounds to make him Radford’s career rebound leader with 847.
