Β CLOVER, SC — A fourth grade teacher taught her son a life lesson when she found $11,000 on the side of the road and turned it in. Β The York County woman says she had no choice but to do the right thing.
Sherry Whitesides and her son were on their way to a baseball game when several hundred-dollar bills hit their windshield. Β They found more cash when they pulled over.
“I’m rich in the Lord,” said Whitesides, “and I just know that he has blessed me far more than that little $11,000 could ever bless me. Β And I never thought about keeping the money. Β My concern was for whoever lost it.”
Whitesides also found a Wells Fargo receipt, which helped police track down the owner of the money.
