Detectives Investigate Threats That Forced A Catawba County Middle School To Evacuate

CATAWBA CO., N.C. — Catawba County Detectives are investigating after learning of a possible active shooter and bomb threat at Mill Creek Middle School on Friday morning.

Authorities responded to the school around 12 p.m. to conduct a thorough search of the campus, and found no suspects or suspicious devices.

Mill Creek students were evacuated to Bandys High School while this search was in progress, where authorities say they were reunified with their families.

Authorities say all students, faculty, and staff are safe and have been accounted for.

The Catawba County Sheriff’s Office is working closely with CCS administration to further ensure campus safety and security.

The investigation into these threats is active and ongoing.
