City Manager’s Budget Plan Includes Service Cuts, Tax Hike

Β CHARLOTTE, NC –Β Making up for Charlotte’s $22 million budget shortfall could save some homeowners money.
City Manager Ron Carlee presented his complicated budget Monday night to City Council.
The proposal includes a property tax hike, a reduction in services and fee increases.
βIt is a budget that meets our immediate financial challenge and positions the city to move forward in a strong economy,” said Carlee.
The Mayor and City Council will review and discuss the City Managerβs recommendations at a special meeting on Wednesday.
Residents can weigh in on the recommendation at a public hearing on May 11th at 5:30p.m.
The budget will be adopted on June 8th.
