Accidental Shooting Involving Concord Officer

CABARRUS COUNTY, N.C.– Β  A Concord Police Officer was injured during a firearms training exercise Wednesday.

The incident happened at the Cabarrus County Sheriff’s Office Training Center and Firing Range on Irish Potato Road.Β The officer accidentally discharged his weapon, shooting himself in the lower calf.

The officer was transported to Carolinas Medical Center NorthEast with non-life threatening injuries. Β He is expected be okay.
