CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Detectives are investigating a homicide in an east Charlotte neighborhood. According to authorities, they received a check the welfare call around 4:32 p.m. for a home in the 6100 block of Vernedale Road.
When Medic arrived, they found a woman inside the home. She was pronounced at the scene.
Police are currently questioning a family member who was inside with the victim. Police say they do not believe this was a random act of violence.
The victim’s name has not been released at this time. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call 704-432-TIPS.
