NEWTON, N.C. — The man police arrested for the murder of Maggie Daniels faced a judge Monday morning. Β Sharman Odom entered the court room wearing a black and white jumpsuit and handcuffs. Β
He was given a court appointed attorney. Β A judge read Odom his charges and told him he has the possibility of facing the death penalty or getting life in prison if he is found guilty. Β
Odom was arrested Saturday in Winston-Salem and charged with first degree murder. Β He was Daniels’ neighbor. Β Daniels was found dead in her apartment on June 28th. Β
Police still have not released the cause of her death. Β
