NEWTON, N.C. — Police in Newton say Maggie Daniels was strangled to death. Β Daniels was found dead inside her apartment on June 28th. Β
Sharman Odom has been charged with first degree murder in the case. Β He had his first court appearance Monday morning. Β
Police also unsealed a search warrant from the case. Β Police believe there was a struggle between Daniels and Odom, according to the warrant. Β
Odom is also accused of having scratches on his face and a patch of hair missing in the days after Daniels was found dead. Β If convicted, Odom could face the death penalty or life in prison. Β
