CHARLOTTE, NC — A new eco-industrial park in northwest Charlotte is expected to bring in up to 700 new jobs over the next few years.  Governor Pat McCrory was in town for the grand unveiling Thursday.

ReVenture Park is set to attract renewable energy companies and promote clean energy projects in the Charlotte region.  The nearly 700-acre park is being developed on the grounds of an old chemical plant.

“And now we’re all coming together to make something happen again… to revitalize something that was once a brown field and make it a green field again,” said Gov. McCrory.

ReVenture Park is already home to nine companies.  The development also includes 200 acres for trails connecting the Carolina Tread Trail to the National Whitewater Center.
