CHARLOTTE, NC —Β A new eco-industrial park in northwest Charlotte is expected to bring in up to 700 new jobs over the next few years. Β Governor Pat McCrory was in town for the grand unveiling Thursday.
ReVenture Park is set to attract renewable energy companies and promote clean energy projects in the Charlotte region. Β The nearly 700-acre park is being developed on the grounds of an old chemical plant.
“And now we’re all coming together to make something happen again… to revitalize something that was once a brown field and make it a green field again,” said Gov. McCrory.
ReVenture Park is already home to nine companies. Β The development also includes 200 acres for trails connecting the Carolina Tread Trail to the National Whitewater Center.
