CHARLOTTE, NC — The Panthers are pounding to the playoffs. Instead of anxious, the team is focused, and somewhat relaxed, heading into Saturday’s game.
Saturday’s game means a short week for the Panthers. Instead of their normal Tuesday off, they were back at work, this time, indoors. For the second time in as many weeks, the Cats hit the carpet at the Charlotte Convention Center, something Head Coach Ron Rivera decided to do yesterday. The Head Coach says he liked Tuesday’s tempo, and that his team seems to be in the right mindset when it comes to playoff mode.
“I think a little bit has to do with experience and understanding,” said Head Coach Ron Rivera. “And again, the things that we talked about are just being ourselves, getting back to what we do. I’ve been real appreciative of the energy level the guys have had.”
“Just approach it like we have these last couple of weeks,” added tight end Greg Olsen. “We’ve played winning football. We don’t need to reinvent ourselves just ’cause it’s the playoffs. Just play, just play. Let the game come to you.”
The Panthers are expected to return to their outdoor practice fields tomorrow as they continue to game plan for the Cardinals. It’s been nearly a decade since the Panthers actually won a postseason game.
