Charlotte Legends

The Eighties in Charlotte, was very alive with local artistic talent, as it is now. What changed has been not the resident talent, but the identification and focus on these musicians. There were venues all around the city where musicians were heard, and very often in the same venues that world famous acts engaged their talent. Those world famous acts all began in local scenes. B & C Artists is now presenting the first of a series of shows focusing on the genuine music gems in the crown of this Queen City. WHAT: “Charlotte Legends” presented by B & C Artists WHERE: Visulite Theatre, Charlotte, NC WHEN: Saturday, January 10th. Doors open at 7pm, Show at 8pm WHO: Lenny Federal: Lenny is not only the musician that was one of the original players in this country‘s oldest Blues club, the Double Door Inn, Lenny has the history as the cornerstone of respect amongst players as having the method and admiral talent for rising players in this city to learn and be schooled on how it is done. There is not a musician in the city that is not familiar with Lenny‘s Blues influenced Rock band, The Federal Bureau of Rock and Roll and his current, the Lenny Federal Band. The envied talent of Lenny to simply “roll with the improve” with his personalization of icon‘s is sought after by even the most conceded players. Gigi Dover and the Big Love: One of the binding staples in this city‘s package of musical talent is very well remembered and respected for her vocals with The Rank Outsiders. Her current outfit, Gigi and the Big Love includes Charlotte‘s own Eric Lovell and continually perform across the state. Donna Duncan Band: Some of us know her from Skatfish, Donna Duncan & The Manic Mood Swings and A Dollar Short. Her talent has allowed her to open for acts such as John Lee Hooker, The Neville Brothers, James Brown, Delbert McClinton, Paul Thorn, Buddy Guy, B.B. King and Bettye Lavette. She has also performed many shows with the late Blues legend Hubert Sumlin.
