CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) β Kyle Busch will return to competition this weekend, less than three months after he suffered injuries in a crash at Daytona. Busch will drive his No. 18 Toyota in Saturday night’s All-Star race at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
CHADBOURN, N.C. (AP) β The Carolina Mudcats baseball team has gone to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, after an early morning wreck sent several players to the hospital. Multiple media outlets reported the bus carrying the minor league team it flipped on its side near Chadbourn shortly before 4 a.m. yesterday. Yesterday’s game was postponed.
ATLANTA (AP) β Charlotte forward Willie Clayton is transferring to Georgia State to play his final college season. Clayton started 22 games for the 49ers last season, averaging 7.3 points and ranking 13th in Conference USA in rebounding at 6.3 per game. He decided to finish his career closer to home, having played at Thomasville (Ga.) High School.
COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) β A’ja Wilson and Alaina Coates were South Carolina’s high-scoring duo off the bench in the women’s basketball team’s first-ever Final Four season. Now, both are preparing to make an even bigger impact on the Gamecocks next season, this time as starters. Wilson and Coates were the second and third leading scorers for South Carolina.
