Β ATLANTA, GA — Β The husband of Charlotte missionary Nancy Writebol is talking about her battle with the ebola virus. Β Nancy Writebol and Samaritan’s Purse doctor Kent Brantly are being treated for Ebola at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta.
David Writebol returned from Liberia Sunday night. Β He is under quarantine on SIM’s campus in south Charlotte. Β He talked about his wife’s condition through Skype.
“Each time I talk to her I get a sense her voice is clearer and brighter, so I’m imagining that she’s getting stronger, and she tells me that she is feeling better and getting stronger. Β Still very weak,” he said.
David Writebol and two SIM doctors are under quarantine for 21 days, which is the longest incubation period for Ebola. Β Health officials say they are not sick and not showing any symptoms. Β The ebola virus has claimed more than a thousand lives in west Africa. Β It spreads through contact with an infected person’s bodily fluids.
