After watching DeMarre (deh-MAHR’-ay) Carroll collapse to the court with a knee injury, the Hawks got good news yesterday when an MRI showed no serious damage.
OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) β Golden State took a 2-0 lead in its Western Conference final last night with a 99-98 win over Houston. Stephen (STEH’-fehn) Curry shot 5-for-11 from 3-point range and finished with 33 points and six assists while Houston’s James Harden contributed 38 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists.
TAMPA, Fla. (AP) β The fourth game of the Tampa Bay-New York Stanley Cup Eastern Conference final is tonight on the Lightning’s ice. After winning the opening game of the series the Rangers have dropped the last two. The series shifts back to New York for Game 5 Sunday night.
CHICAGO (AP) β Anaheim tops Chicago 2-1 in their best-of-seven Western Conference final after last night’s 2-1 in the Windy City. Simon Depres (deh-PRAY’) scored the game-winner and Frederik Andersen turned back 27 shots to lead the Ducks to the win. The fourth game is tomorrow in Chicago.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) β The annual Coca-Cola 600 Sprint Cup race is Sunday in Charlotte, North Carolina. Qualifying for the longest race of the NASCAR season takes place early this evening. The winner of the race a year ago was Jimmie Johnson.
