
UPDATE: The Union County Department of Health says a total of 174 people have been treated for having gastrointestinal illnesses in the county since May 20th. Β The cause is unknown at this time.Β
The most common symptoms reported are nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal cramping and loss of appetite. Β The symptomatic employees and students have been excluded from work/school until they are asymptomatic for 48 hours.
UNION COUNTY, N.C. — More than two dozen students got sick at an elementary school in Union County. Β
Officials say 20 to 30 students at Shiloh Elementary School reported having gastrointestinal issues Thursday and Friday. Β The school official said this does not appear to be food related.
Cleaning crews plan to disinfect the school over the holiday weekend.Β
