Keep the Umbrellas Handy: Warm & Soggy End to the Week

AM Headlines:
  • Messy AM Commute w/ showers
  • Warm and Soggy Through Friday
  • Chilly Weekend
  • No Wintry Weather Sunday
Discussion:
It will be a messy drive this morning with steady showers through mid-morning. Warmer today with highs reaching the upper 60s. Rain will continue for the mountains through the afternoon, while the rest of the area remains cloudy. Showers will become more steady overnight with lows falling to the upper 50s to lower 60s. A few heavy downpours are possible Friday. Can’t rule out a stray rumble, but severe threat remains low as temps warm back to the mid-60s Friday. Rain will taper off from west to east late Friday. Rainfall totals will range from 1/2″ to 1″ across the Piedmont. 1-2.5″ of rainfall will be possible for the higher elevations which could lead to localized flooding and will need to be monitored. Dry and cold this weekend with highs in the 40s Saturday and Sunday. Wintry precip is not in the cards for us as moisture stays closer to the coast. A few showers are possible Monday, otherwise, temps will warm into the mid to upper 50s through the middle of next week.
