Edge On The Clock: NBA Reveals Newly Designed Kobe Bryant Trophy
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The National Basketball Association is revealing a newly-designed Kobe Bryant Trophy. The trophy, given to the Most Valuable Player of the NBA All-Star Game, is being renamed for Bryant, following his 2020 death in a helicopter crash. Almost every detail of the trophy is significant to his career in some way. The eight-sided base represents Bryant’s jersey number, which was 8 and the 18 stars are for his 18 All-Star selections. Three levels of the trophy are seven, nine and eleven inches high, to commemorate Bryant’s All-Star MVP’s in 2007, 2009, and 2011.
Plus, the upcoming Warner Brother’s movie-musical adaptation of The Color Purple now has its leading ladies. Singer Fantasia Taylor and actress Danielle Brooks are reprising their roles as Celie and Sofia.
And, Nick Cannon is apologizing for any pain he caused after announcing he’s expecting his eighth child. Cannon said his words may have appeared like he was making comparisons between his son’s death and the new child he is expecting.
