A Drastic Cool Down This Weekend With A Few Flakes For Some

Are you over it yet? There is yet another chance for wintry weather late this weekend, but with limited moisture to work with this will be a non-event for most people.

The drastic temperature drop is the real story this weekend. Highs will go from 70 Saturday to the upper 40s Sunday in the Piedmont. The rain and snow mix will stay around and north of I-40. Not much moisture to work with here. #ncwx #scwx #weekendweather pic.twitter.com/4KErkjlxCD

MOISTURE: There will be a cold front that crosses the area overnight Saturday into Sunday – this will bring a few showers to the area.

TEMPERATURES: The temperatures do not look to be cold enough to support wintry precipitation in the Piedmont, but a scattered rain and snow mix will likely occur north of I-40.

BOTTOM LINE:

The trends have been showing a drier Sunday with only isolated to widely scattered showers possible.
The rain/snow mix will stay north of I-40.

The bigger story with this cold front will be the drastic drop in temperatures. This weekend will be a tale of two seasons with temperatures dropping 20+ degrees between Saturday and Sunday.
