A Tale Of Two Seasons This Weekend

Weather Headlines:
– A tale of two seasons this weekend with a drastic temperature drop
– Around and north of I-40 snow on Sunday
– Temperature roller coaster

What a day! This splendid stretch of weather will continue through Saturday with temperatures well above average. Most neighborhoods in the Piedmont will top out at 70 degrees Saturday with mountain highs near 50 degrees. This weekend will be a tale of two seasons as a cold front will drop high temperatures 20+ degrees between Saturday and Sunday.

A cold front will swing through Saturday PM into Sunday AM. This will bring scattered snow showers to the mountains with scattered rain showers to the Piedmont. A few flurries could possibly make it to the Piedmont, but accumulations look to stay around and north of I-40. With these warm temperatures ahead of the cold front, the ground will be above freezing, therefore, i’m not expecting treacherous road conditions.

Cool and dry conditions build in for Valentine’s Day with gradual warming through the week. The second half of next week looks to be unsettled, but feature above average temperatures.

Tonight: Mostly clear. Low: 40. Wind: W/SW 5-10.

Saturday: Warm and mostly sunny. High: 70. Wind: SW 5-15.

Sunday: AM showers. Mtn snow showers. Much colder. High: 48. Wind: N/NW 5010

Enjoy the warmth!
