ATLANTA, GA — Charlotte missionary Nancy Writebol is gaining strength as she battles the ebola virus.  Her husband David has been able to visit with her through a window at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta.

David Writebol’s quarantine at the SIM campus in south Charlotte ended on Sunday.  Nancy Writebol and Samaritan’s Purse doctor Kent Brantly are receiving an experimental drug.

Three Liberian doctors who have received the same drug are also showing signs of improvement.   There’s a new facility in Liberia to treat people infected with Ebola.  The virus has claimed more than 1,100 lives in west Africa this year.  It is spread through contact with an infected person’s bodily fluids.
