STATESVILLE, N.C. — Transportation crews closed a section of Interstate 77 in Iredell County on Wednesday for an emergency pothole repair.

Officials say one lane of I-77 South was closed between Tomlin Mill Road and Olin Road to allow crews to safely repair a hole in the bridge over Patterson Creek.

The repairs are expected to be complete by Thursday afternoon, according to a news release.
