City Council Approves Property Tax Hike

Β CHARLOTTE, NC — The City of Charlotte is closing in on a solution for a $22 million budget deficit, and it comes with a property tax increase.
City Council members approved a one cent property tax increase and various spending and service reductions proposed by Council members Greg Phipps and Vi Lyles Tuesday during the budget straw vote process.
Small businesses will see a $250 annual trash collection fee. Β Zoning and permitting fees for real estate developers will go up.
