CALDWELL CO., N.C. — Police say a 40-year-old Caldwell County man faces over 100 charges for his alleged involvement in drug trafficking crimes in the area dating back to 2003.

Detectives say Jessie Clark, 40, of Hudson, N.C. was taken into custody of the Burke County Jail and given a $300,000 secured bond for his most recent offense earlier this week.

On February 15th, 2022, deputies with the Burke County Sheriff’s Office noticed a suspicious pickup truck traveling on Spaniel Street in Connelly Springs.

Deputies say after they saw a bag being thrown from the cab of the truck on East Burke Boulevard, they initiated a traffic stop.

Jessie Clark, a convicted felon and subject of several investigations for trafficking in heroin and methamphetamine, was identified as the driver of the truck.

Deputies say they found a pistol and drug paraphernalia after conducting a search of Clark’s vehicle.

Police say they also found close to 2 1/2 pounds of methamphetamine in the recovered bag thrown from the truck.

Clark was then taken to the Magistrate’s Officer where he was charged with Felony Trafficking in Methamphetamine, Felony Possession of Firearm by Convicted Felon, and Felony Possession with Intent To Manufacture/Sell/Deliver Methamphetamine, according to a news release.

Police say previously on January 5th, 2022, Clark was arrested after an investigation by the Morganton Department of Public Safety.

Authorities seized approximately 112 grams of methamphetamine and 14 grams of heroin.

After this incident, Clark was taken before the Magistrate’s Office and served with a warrant for Trafficking in Methamphetamine and Trafficking Heroin.

Police issued Clark a $25,000 secure bond in this case. He was held at the Burke County Jail until making bond and being released on January 12th, 2022.

Before this claim that Clark was distributing methamphetamine in September of 2021, police say Clark was once again taken into custody on November 10th, 2021.

While conducting surveillance, investigators surrounded Clark at the Country Market gas station on Dysartsville Road and took him in for questioning.

Police found one pound of methamphetamine and one pound of marijuana inside his car after conducting a search.

Clark was then arrested and taken before the Magistrate’s Office where he was charged with Trafficking in Methamphetamine and various other related felony drug charges.

Police say Clark received a $201,000 secure bond and a court date on December 2, 2021 in this case.
