Charlotte car tire repairs don’t have to be stressful!
The first thing to remember when you’re in need of Charlotte car tire repair is to never drive on a flat tire. You’ll do even more damage to your ride, and you may mess up the wheel or axle (and cause yourself a big old bill when you visit an auto service center). Put on a spare, or call a tow truck to have your ride towed to our Toyota Service Center in Charlotte! Once you’re here, we can take steps to decide how to repair your car tire.
The first thing our Charlotte Toyota tire techs will decide is whether they should repair your car tire or replace it altogether – unfortunately, sometimes tire repairs aren’t possible and you need to get a new tire on your car for safety reasons. Here are some of the stipulations for repairing a tire versus replacing it:
Location: the damage to the tire has to be located on the tread of the tire – if it’s in the sidewall, it will ultimately weaken that spot and lead to a blowout. In that case, a Charlotte car tire replacement is needed! The damage also needs to be situated alone – it can’t be any closer than 16 inches to other damage in the tire.
Size: The damage to the tire needs to be less than ¼ of an inch thick or car tire repairs aren’t going to cut it – you’ll need to schedule Charlotte Toyota service for a replacement.
Severity: The damage to the tire should be a clean cut – you don’t want to see cracks or spiderweb damage coming out from it or else you need a new tire.

What types of Charlotte car tire repair are available to you? Here are the two basic means of repairs:
Plug: Our Toyota Service techs can plug your tire (or you can do it yourself at home), but this is by no means a permanent repair and won’t last forever. Use it as a temporary means only!
Patch: If the damage adheres to the guidelines we listed above, our Toyota service techs in Charlotte can apply a patch to the tire. This entails putting a piece of rubber on the inside of the tire to cover the damage and seal in air!
