Unsettled Week of Weather

AM Headlines:
  • Cool Start
  • Cloudy and Warmer
  • Isolated to scattered showers tonight
  • An unsettled week with on and off rain chances
Discussion:
Keep the umbrellas handy this week – after today rain chances will pick up. Highs will reach the upper 60s today with clouds filling in through the afternoon. Overnight lows will only fall to the mid 50s. Early morning fog is likely for the area early Tuesday with a breezy afternoon Tuesday and Wednesday. On and off showers will begin Monday night. We’ll likely see a lull in the rain Tuesday afternoon as temps rise into the low 70s. However, an approaching cold front will bring rain chances back to the region Wednesday morning into the early afternoon. An isolated chance for thunder will be possible, but overall severe threat looks limited over the next few days. Another boundary will bring back rain and storm chances Thursday into Friday. We’ll catch a break from the rain for much of Saturday, but more showers likely beginning early Sunday. In total 1-1.5″ for the mountains with .5-1″ for the foothills and less than .5″ for the Piedmont. This will keep the flash flooding threat low, but will still need to be monitored, especially for the higher elevations mid to late week.
