Deputies Locate and Charge Person Of Interest In Mooresville Homicide

A man has been found and charged with murder after deputies find a woman shot in her car.
Deputies say they obtained information on the location of Arther Lee Givens, a person of interest, in the case. According to the sheriff’s reports, Givens was located in Oaklawn Cemetery in Charlotte and taken into custody for questioning.
On Monday, February 28th, 2022 deputies say Givens was charged with the murder of Lailani Nicole Givens. Iredell County’s Sheriff Darren Campbell issued a statement expressing his condolences and support to the victim’s family and thanking those who aided in Givens’ arrest.
“I want to extend our sympathy and support to the victim’s family, and
hope this arrest will allow them to have some closure. I also want to express our thanks for the
assistance provided in this investigation by the United States Marshal’s Office and their taskforce
members, as well as the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department. Our Investigators have
worked around the clock on this investigation since they received the call last week. The citizens
of Iredell County should be proud of the hard work and dedication which these investigators
have put in on this case”.

MOORESVILLE N.C. – Deputies are offering a cash reward for information leading to the arrest of a man wanted in connection to a homicide in Mooresville.
Iredell County officials responded to a call on Rocky River Road near Coddle Creek Highway on February 19th where they say they found 34-year-old Lailani Nicole Givens shot in a vehicle. Givens was pronounced dead at the scene.
Deputies are seeking information on the location of Arther Lee Givens, who has been determined as a person of interest in this investigation. According to deputies, Givens currently has an outstanding warrant for assault by strangulation and assault on a female.
Givens was last seen wearing a hooded grey and white tracksuit with black slides.
