LOS ANGELES (AP) β€” Tyler Moore had three hits and scored twice, and David Berg pitched two scoreless innings for his 13th save as No. 1 national seed UCLA beat Maryland 4-2 in the Los Angeles Regional on Sunday night to force a deciding game Monday.

UCLA (45-15) scored a run in each of the first three innings, and a pitching staff that led NCAA Division I with a 2.19 ERA made that hold up. Bruins setup man Tucker Forbes (1-0) pitched 1 2/3 scoreless innings for his first victory in his 38th appearance.

LaMonte Wade hit a solo homer in the third inning for Maryland (41-22).

Kort Peterson singled in Moore for a 3-1 lead in third inning before Kevin Smith’s sacrifice bunt scored Tim Lewis to cut Maryland’s deficit to 3-2 in the fifth.

Moore doubled, stole third and scored when the throw went into left field in the seventh inning.
