CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police say speed and alcohol were factors in a west Charlotte wreck involving a Charlotte-Mecklenburg School bus.
Kevin Sanders is accused of crashing his Mercedes-Benz into the side of CMS bus #1859 on Monday evening on West Blvd. Sanders was seriously injured in the accident and admitted to a local hospital. Police say he was speeding and under the influence of alcohol. Charges are pending against him at this time.
The bus driver, Tiffieny Blanks, was also transported to a local hospital as a precaution. No students were on the bus at the time of the accident.
