Spring & Sunshine Serenade Into March

Rain chances are on the declineΒ this week, but temperatures only rise from here.

Chilly showers are sliding through the Carolinas for the second half of the weekend, but much more agreeableΒ conditions return as we head into March. Expect clearing overnightΒ as the rain moves out and temperatures hover near freezing across the board. Mostly sunny skies return to the area by Monday afternoon, as a welcome rebound in temperatures puts the Foothills and Piedmont near 60ΒΊ, while the High Country settlesΒ closer to 50ΒΊ.

Temperatures only go up from here. The 70s may return to the forecast as soon as Wednesday as winds shift out of the south. A brief hiccup to the warming trend arrives on Friday as cold air damming sets up in the Carolinas, but near-record warmth could find its way here by next weekend. Rain chances remain minimal for much of the next seven days.
