Police Asking For Public’s Help Identifying Suspect In Concord Shooting
CONCORD, N.C. — The Concord Police Department is asking for the public’s help identifying the suspect accused of shooting a man Monday evening.
Police responded to the parking lot of the Food Lion, located on Concord Parkway South, around 5:45 p.m. for a reported shooting. Upon arrival at the scene, officers found that one person had been shot during an exchange of gunfire.
Through an initial investigation, the police department determined the incident sparked after a verbal altercation between the victim and an unknown man. A third man, known to police, was also involved in the exchange of gunfire and was uninjured.
The victim was transported by EMS and his injuries are not life threatening.
The unknown suspect fled the scene by foot heading towards the Parkway Station Apartments before officers arrived at the scene.
According to police, the suspect is described as a black man in his late teens or early twenties, slender build, last seen wearing a grey hoodie, and grey sweatpants with a tattoo on his face.
