Detectives have charged David Lamar Caldwell, 24, for the murder of Juwan Hernandez.

As a result of their continued investigation, detectives identified Caldwell as a suspect in this case and issued arrest warrants for Murder and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.
Police say Caldwell turned himself into the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office overnight Friday.
The investigation into this case is active and ongoing.

CHARLOTTE N.C. – Police say they are looking for the person responsible for shooting and killing 25-year-old Juwan Hernandez.
Investigators say Hernandez showed up at Novant Health in Matthews with a gunshot wound around 3:30am on March 7th. He was pronounced dead a short time later at the hospital.
Police determined the shooting happened on Springfield Gardens Drive near Idlewild Road, according to a news release. Police are asking anyone with additional information to call 704-432-TIPS and speak directly to lead Detective C. Sinnott.
