Pittenger Addresses 100,000 In Paris

PARIS, FRANCE–Congressman Robert Pittenger addressed more than 100,000 people at a major rally for the Iranian pro-democracy movement Saturday.Β 

Congressman Pittenger focused on the current Iranian regime’s poor human rights record, including persecution of religious minorities and political dissidents, and told the pro-democracy demonstrators that the American people and American Congress stand in solidarity with them for freedom, liberty, and democracy.Β  β€œTruth will prevail.”

Β This annual rally is a major international gathering of Iranian expatriates and organizations calling for regime change in Iran.Β  Congressman Pittenger was invited by the Organization for Iranian American Communities and attended to help show support for the Iranian pro-democracy movement.Β  Unfortunately, President Obama did not send an representative.

Β Other speakers included former NYC Mayor Rudy Giuliani, former CIA Director James Woolsey, former UN Ambassador Bill Richardson, and former presidential candidate Howard Dean.
