STATESVILLE, N.C.– The Iredell County Sheriff’s Department is asking for help in identifying a suspect who tricked a cashier out of nearly $500 in cash.
Police say the suspect entered the R&J Tobacco Discount Store om May 4th, 2015, and paid for an energy drink with a $50 bill. The suspect then asked for change for various denominations of bills. The exchanged occurred several times. The clerk later realized through security footage and the cash drawer balance that the suspect had tricked him out of $497 in U.S. currency.
The subject is charged with Obtaining Property by False Pretenses.
