CHARLOTTE, NC – A murder suspect has surrendered after a SWAT situation in West Charlotte.
Police say they found 51-year-old Diane Burns shot on Seymour Drive Saturday afternoon. According to investigators, the suspect, 70-year-old Joe Willie Maddox, barricaded himself inside a home.
SWAT team members talked Maddox out of the house and arrested him.
Neighbors say they heard an escalating argument before the shooting happened.
Police say the two knew each other.
