Police: Person Of Interest In Southeast Charlotte Shooting Identified

Detectives say they have identified both the victim and suspect involved in a deadly shooting in east Charlotte on March 21st.

According to a news release, police identified 36-year-old Timothy Mackey as the victim.

Detectives say they identified 26-year-old Cedric Young as a suspect in the case.

Young was arrested without incident, according to a news release.

This case is active and ongoing.

ORIGINAL STORY:

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police say one person was killed in a shooting in southeast Charlotte. The shooting happened on Marvin Road near Wendover Road around 2:30pm.

The victim was transported a short distance away by bystanders but MEDIC ended up meeting the bystanders and transporting the victim to Atrium Main where they later died, according to a news release.

No arrests have been made at this time.  This is a developing story.  Check back for updates.
