SHELBY, NC — A year-long investigation into prescription drug fraud ended with the arrest of a local doctor And 28 other people.
Cleveland County sheriff’s deputies arrested Dr. Steven Skorman at his office in Shelby. He specializes in foot and ankle surgery. Dr. Skorman is accused of prescribing excessive amounts of powerful drugs to people who didn’t need them.
The investigation in the doctor began with a tip last August.
