Doctor Shot In Boston Area Hospital

BOSTON, M.A. — Police have a suspect in custody following the shooting of a doctor at the Brigham and Women’s hospital in Boston.

According to reports, a cardiologist was shot and sustained life-threatening injuries and the gun used in the shooting has been recovered.

The shooting occurred Tueaday morning in the Carl J. and Ruth Shapiro Cardiovascualr Center, a building across the street from the main entrance. A witness described the scene as “chaotic”, and the hospital made a statement telling visitors to evacuate.

The lockdown at the hospital has been lifted following the arrest of the suspect but the hospital is in a code black, which means that it is not accepting additional patients.
