Statesville Avenue Exit Ramp Along I-77 To Close Temporarily

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The North Carolina Department of Transportation contract crews will temporarily close the northbound exit ramp from Interstate 77 to Statesville Avenue. The closure is part of a $15.3 million contract to improve approximately seven miles of I-85 between exits 36 and 42.

The closure is the second phase of a project to safely remove and rebuild the exiting concrete surface of the interchange ramps. The ramp will close beginning on Friday, April 29 at 9 p.m. remaining in place until 6 a.m. Monday, May 9.

Drivers can get around the closure by taking exit 12 at LaSalle Street to access Statesville Avenue.

Drivers exiting from I-77 North will be able to continue to I-85.

NCDOT will display alerts on nearby overhead message boards when possible, in addition to the contractor’s portable message signs.
